William Fan

The Berlin-based label William Fan was founded in 2015 and quickly become a favourite on the German fashion scene. The son of immigrants from Hong Kong, Fan grew up in Lower Saxony and still counts his upbringing among his greatest inspirations. His collections are ‘Euro-Asian, inclusive and elegant’ – which is clear from the exquisite tailoring combined with modern gender-fluid elements.

‘ETERNITY’ celebrates the brief feeling of infinity, the moment of weightlessness, the unfiltered yet coy ways in which evening encounters play out.

‘My work with Dr. Hauschka really happened by chance. I met the WALA team many years ago at a dinner and an hour later, we were back at my store. We quickly realised we had a lot in common. Our partnership began shortly after that and Dr. Hauschka initially handled the hair and make-up for my fashion shows. Now, as well as our shows, Dr. Hauschka works on other projects, such as our campaign film ‘The Art of Value’, which was nominated at many international film festivals and even took first place in the fashion film category. I was always a huge fan of Dr. Hauschka and have been using its products since I was young. Our relationship with WALA is truly inspiring and I get a lot of ideas and new approaches from the company’s long history and the many different discussions I have in person with the team at Bad Boll. I’m also influenced by the ever-present concepts of rhythm, tranquillity and treating humans and nature with care. These are all values that matter to me and my label, too. I spend a lot of time thinking about how I can be more considerate in how I create and I'm very aware of the social and environmental footprint I leave behind. It’s important to me that Dr. Hauschka and our fashion support the people who wear our products and motivate their self-development, rather than changing or distorting them. Fashion and beauty have the power to shape certain ideals of beauty and it’s our responsibility to present a healthy image. We both care about creating pictures that do something positive.’

Felder Felder

Twin sisters Annette and Daniela Felder are behind the label Felder Felder. After graduating from Central Saint Martins College in London, they were the shooting stars of the English fashion world for many years. Today, their collections are all about sustainability, and they describe their own clothing as ‘high fashion that’s conscious, sexy and made with care’.

Each design tells a story – from recycled and reused to handcrafted by experts.

‘Our partnership with Dr. Hauschka started back at Art Basel Miami in 2018. We were working on an exhibition and a panel, on the boundary between art and fashion, using the latest plant-based materials. Dr. Hauschka supported our work and the result was a dress made from tree bark. We rounded off the look with Dr. Hauschka limited edition make-up and, together, we presented them both to the international guests from the world of art and media at Art Basel. We then went on to create more clothes together, which were put on display at the Dr. Hauschka Green Styling Lounge during the 2019 Berlinale and worn on Berlinale red carpets, along with Dr. Hauschka make-up looks. Our motivation was to showcase the possibilities created by sustainable fashion and make-up looks and how important it is to create visibility for this issue at events with a strong media presence. The result was our FelderFelder line of e-couture – sustainable and socially conscious couture – for which we designed sustainable red-carpet fashion for our clients, sometims in collaboration with the Dr. Hauschka team. As we come from classic high fashion, we weren’t really involved in sustainability in clothing at the start of our career. Personally, we were very interested in the subject. It took a while for us to understand that sustainability in all its forms should play a role in our fashion, too. First of all, we had to realise how awful the fashion world can be in order to understand that we wanted to actively do something about it. We have a mission that goes far beyond nice clothes. Back then, we were almost totally alone in the fashion industry and had to justify ourselves constantly. In our fashion, like Dr. Hauschka with its products, we’re all about natural ingredients that don’t just look (or smell) good but also have a positive impact on the people who make and wear them. A dress made from organically grown plant fibres feels totally different on your skin – just like cosmetics from Dr. Hauschka. That, in turn, has a positive effect on our overall image of ourselves – so it’s good for body and soul. Dr. Hauschka isn’t just good for your skin – it’s good for our inner lives and the world we live in.’

Richert Beil

Jale Richert and Michele Beil are the design duo behind the label Richert Beil, founded in Berlin in 2014. They combine a dedication to fair manufacturing conditions, diversity and gender-neutral fashion with craftsmanship and a certain kind of cool that you can only find in the German capital. They themselves describe their fashion as ‘inclusive, classic, deconstructed and sensual’.

‘In 2020, we were actively looking for a partner to support us in our work. As we make inclusive collections that deconstruct and reinterpret classic elements, we were looking for someone who deals holistically with the concept of body and soul and doesn’t just launch the latest on-trend collections on the market. Dr. Hauschka is redefining beauty in its own way. This kind of approach is rare. We admire the openness and tolerance towards our work. The partnership is very cooperative and authentic. The message behind the projects is more important than just making money for the sake of it. We’re currently working with Dr. Hauschka on our New York Fashion Week debut. We are set to showcase the label and shoot our next lookbook. The idea is based on our last campaign, where we walked around Berlin and interviewed people about issues such as racism, sustainability and fashion. Then we placed the voiceovers over the images. We also visited WALA's medicinal herb garden and interviewed a few members of the team. So we started from our two company headquarters. Next stop, New York. Fashion and beauty go hand in hand, since both can help us define ourselves. Both are very personal and affect the impression we make on people. So, at Dr. Hauschka and in what we do, it’s about much more than just the product. It’s about helping people feel good all over – whether that’s through fashion or beauty.’
